Korea Police Investigates Bithumb For Internal Theft

Citing a report from Money Today, the South Korean police underwent an investigation on Bithumb, the largest local crypto exchange, on April 15 following an inside embezzlement on March 29. The probe mainly looked into the external servers of the exchange.
The police remarked that a case of such nature normally exploits external channels, such as emails, external servers, and alike, to seize funds.
The embezzlement on March cost Bithumb 14.3 billion Korean won (approx. $13 million), and the exchange involved the local police to conduct an investigation. The users' assets have been stored in the cold wallet system, which remained untouched by the culprit(s).
